The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAHMS) for Kensignton and Chelsea offers support for anyone under the age of 18 who is exeriencing worries, sad or angry feelings, behavioural problems or any kind of mental health difficulty.
Their psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists provide assessment and treatment packages for children and young people and their families. Treatment may include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), family therapy, play therapy, individual and group psychotherapy. Medication is also used when appropriate and carefully monitored by the doctors.

How to apply: | Telephone enquiry or referrals are accepted from professionals in health, social services, education and the voluntary sector or GP. Referrals from parents and self-referrals are also actively encouraged. The team try to offer an initial assessment within four weeks, though after this there may sometimes be a wait for a particular form of treatment. |
